When during the Sixties, H.H. Prince Karim Aga Khan IV for the first time in his life saw the beautiful sea of Gallura, he got fascinated of this piece of land, at that time called “Monti di Mola”. Since then, many things have changed: “Monti di Mola” has been replaced by Costa Smeralda, one of the world most famous and exclusive tourist destinations.
One of our constructions, Villa Aqua, has been built on a hill half way between Porto Cervo and Porto Rotondo, which are two of the most famous villages of Costa Smeralda. In few minutes by car it is possible to reach the suggestive village of San Pantaleo as well as the Rena Bianca (white sand) beach, that was named after the colour of its very small white sand.
Villa Aqua, designed by Arch. Simone Muntone, totally complies with the local architectural style. It was built with the area traditional materials, wisely worked by local artisans. Old shingles, marble and granite bricks and chestnut wood perfectly combine with modern materials like thermal proof glass, corten steel and brass: Sardinia tradition meets comfort and innovation.
Centuries-old olive trees, junipers, fruit trees and two vegetable gardens surround the estate, which has: entrance and entry path, car parks, swimming pool (with technical compartments) and, most important, the villa.
The precious Saint James granite upholsters completely the house. This material is very famous thanks to its long-lasting life, elegance and refinement. The house has: 5 rooms, 4 toilets, double living room, kitchen, utility room, hallways/wardrobes, 4 bathrooms, verandas, terraces as well as multiple paths.
Roofs are made of chestnut wood which has its typical brown colour. The double living room has been enriched by wide windows which overlook on the beautiful sea scenery as well as on the fragrant Mediterranea typical vegetation.
The estate is completely surrounded by perimeter walls built with the “dry stone wall” local technic (muretto a secco). It’s a short wall built using local stones wedged in together without concrete nor glue or any kind of additional material. Every part of the estate can be reached using easily accessible paths both for vehicles and pedestrian. The estate can be watered thanks to a water source and a water tank.
The “sea view” swimming pool as well as the luxuriant gardens give relax and privacy to the estate, making it a slice of heaven.
Very closed to the villa there are the small tourist harbours of Portisco and Cala di Volpe. Also the Pevero Golf Club is nearby: natural lagoons, granite rocks, junipers and myrtle create a unique visiting experience.
Villa Aqua is still under construction: so it can be easily customized.
